  1. I'm not familiar with the Oktagon controller.  What type is it SCSI, 
  2. proprietary?  It may be a problem with yu controller software.  It should 
  3. recognize it as a logical device, so you shoulb be able to check its 
  4. contents either by the dir command in a shell or by whatever workbench 
  5. software yyou use (SID, Direcory Opus or whatever)  I also don't know if 
  6. amiback requires the tapes to be formatted.  Sometimes, even though the 
  7. archive software may not require formatted media, it has to be formatted 
  8. for the sytem to recognize its existance.
